In his first season as Inter’s head coach, Cristian Chivu led the “Nerazzurri” to a domestic double following last year’s disastrous campaign; however, he knows full well who truly deserves the credit.
He did so in the Italian Cup final, and he did so again at the championship celebration following the recent match against Hellas Verona.
Humble and respectful toward the players who had earned him the glory of this year’s achievement, he once again stood back to applaud, but Barella understood him.
That’s why he immediately called him over and included him in the circle everyone had formed for the captain, Lautaro, before the Argentine lifted the trophy into the Milan sky.
Just like when we lifted the Coppa Italia trophy, Chivu also stood to the side here off camera, to give all the glory to his players. Until Barella insisted he come over. In the end, Chivu and captain Lautaro lifted the Scudetto trophy together. pic.twitter.com/G78DJxjy38 https://t.co/txWidKHJF9
