Super League: A finale with no bearing on the standings at the bottom of the table

The curtain falls on the tournament
ALPHANEWSLIVE

The 10th and final matchday in the Stoiximan Super League relegation group concludes with three games that have no bearing on the standings.

Atromitos vs. Panserraikos: The leader faces the bottom team in the season finale

Atromitos will host Panserraikos in Peristeri for the 10th and final round of the Stoiximan Super League playouts.

Of course, everything has already been decided, with Dusan Kerkez’s team having secured the top spot in this mini-league, while the Serres side has already been relegated to Super League 2.

This match will kick off at 6:00 PM, unlike the other two, which will start at 7:00 PM, and the home team’s management has announced that admission to the stadium will be free.

Atromitos has been in a slump lately, with just one win in its last four matches. With the exception of their emphatic 3-0 win over Kifisia, the Peristeri-based side has suffered defeats against Asteras AKTOR (4-2), Panetolikos (1-2), and AEL Novibet (2-1).

On the other side, Panserraikos must pick up the pieces after relegation and put on one last farewell performance before leaving the top tier of Greek soccer.

The “Lions” failed to stay in the division, as they were unable to secure a single victory in their last four matches. They drew against AEL Novibet (1-1) and Panetolikos (1-1), while suffering defeats against Kifisia (1-2) and Asteras AKTOR (0-1), ultimately missing the chance to avoid relegation.

Probable Starting Lineups:
Atromitos (N. Kerkez):
Guggesashvili, Ukaki, Stavropoulos, Mitoglou, Uronen, Tsigaras, Moutousami, Tsiloulis, Tsouber, Pneumonidis, Baku
Panserraikos (Z. Saragosa): Tinalini, Armugom, De Marco, Gelashvili, Volney, Lyratzis, Riera, Omeonga, Doiranlis, Teixeira, Ivan

Kifisia-AEL Novibet: A stress-free finale for the hosts, a farewell for the “purples”

With a different mindset but no pressure in the standings, Kifisia and AEL Novibet bring the Stoiximan Super League playouts to a close (7:00 p.m.).

Sebastián Leto’s team has already mathematically secured its place in the division, successfully completing its mission. Kifisia showed resilience throughout the process, never really finding itself in danger, and with Jorge Pombó leading the way, it will be playing in the Super League again next season.

In its final match, it came away with a point from Tripoli against Asteras, despite fielding a lineup with several changes and giving playing time to players who hadn’t played a major role during the season. The MVP was Tsilingiris, who kept a clean sheet with some great saves.

On the other hand, AEL Novibet heads into the final match with the heavy shadow of relegation hanging over them. The victory over Atromitos did not change the fate of the “purples,” who are returning to the second division after just one season in the Super League.

The match has no bearing on the standings, but it is an opportunity for Kifisia to end a successful season on a high note and for AEL to bid farewell to the division with dignity.

Kifisia (Sebastian Leto): Tsilingiris, Konate, Petkov, Botia, Larousi, Pothas, Beni, Pateras, Pombou, Ligdas, Christopoulos.

AEL Novibet (Gianluca Festa): Venetikidis, Papageorgiou, Iliadis, Ferigra, Mason, Peres, Naor, Atanasov, Toupa, Sagal, Pasas.

Panetolikos-Asteras AKTOR: Relaxed for a positive season finale

The Stoiximan Super League season is officially coming to a close. Panetolikos hosts Asteras AKTOR in Agrinio for the 10th and final round of the playouts (7:00 PM), in a match that finds both teams in… a relaxed state.

Panetolikos wraps up its season having at least managed to avoid the bottom spots that lead to major struggles. The Agrinio-based team didn’t impress in the playouts, but they picked up the points they needed to stay out of the danger zone.

In the previous matchday, they secured a draw in Serres against a particularly hard-pressed Panserraikos and sealed their relegation, demonstrating once again their fighting spirit, but also the weaknesses that plagued them throughout the season. Now, in front of its fans, the team wants to end the year on a positive note and with a better image.

On the field, Yiannis Anastasiou cannot count on the suspended Kosta Aleksic, Juan Manuel Garcia, who is dealing with discomfort, and Alexandrou Matsan, who is being rested after heavy usage. Nikola Stagić returns to the squad five months after undergoing surgery on his adductor. The full roster: Agapakis, Aguirre, Apostolopoulos, Banzi, Belevonis, Bouhalakis, Bregu, Esteban, Granath, Kogic, Koutseranko, Lobato, Manrique, Mavrias, Michalak, Mladen, Nikolaou, Pardalos, Satsias, Sielis, Smyrlis, Stagits, Zivkovic.

On the other hand, Asteras AKTOR managed to achieve its primary goal, which was none other than remaining in the top division. The Arkadians went through tough times in the relegation playoffs and on several occasions seemed to be in an extremely difficult position, but they found a way to respond when the pressure peaked.

The recent 0-0 draw against Kifisia didn’t mathematically secure their spot, but the results of the other matches turned out in their favor and put an end to the suspense. And so, even in one of its worst seasons in its 20-year history in the top flight, the Tripoli-based team managed to avoid relegation.

On the field, aside from the suspended Mumo Munoz and the injured Sila, Nikos Papadopoulos, Deligiannidis, Ketou, and Alagbe were left out of the Arcadia squad for this specific match. The Asteras AKTOR squad consists of: Hatzimmanuel, Kakadiaris, Archontakakis, Sipcic, Triantafyllopoulos, Alho, Tereziou, Gromitsaris, Laskaris, Jablonski, Tzandaris, Eder, Almyras, Bartolo, Medieta, Perez, Emmanouilidis, Kaltsas, Oko, Makenda, Charalamboglou, Simoni, Grammenos.

With the relegation battle now decided for both teams, the match in Agrinio is expected to take place without any particular pressure. This may allow Panetolikos and Asteras to play more freely, offering an open game to close out the season.

The two teams have already faced off three times this season (regular season & playouts). The first match in Agrinio ended 3-1 in favor of Panetolikos, while in the two games in Arcadia, Asteras AKTOR had one win (2-1) and the other ended in a draw (1-1).
