The Government Spokesperson emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting workers in his remarks, noting, among other things, that the message he conveyed to the representatives of the organizations is that the dialogue continues.
Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letympiotis stated that he had received the protesters’ memorandum, which he will forward to the President of the Republic.
He noted, among other things, that over the past three years the government has demonstrated its commitment to supporting workers, “especially those with low wages.”
He also highlighted the pay increase for employees on pay scale A257, the fact that the ATA has now been fully restored to 100%, the recent tax reform, as well as the 1.5% across-the-board increase throughout the public sector.

He noted that “the dialogue continues. This is what I have conveyed to the representatives of the unions as well.”
He also stated that a meeting of employee representatives took place on Tuesday at the Ministry of Finance, where, according to him, “regarding some of the demands contained in the memorandum, they were told that these are being viewed positively, either partially or in full.”
When asked to comment on the statements made by the Minister of Finance on ALPHA, who noted that some of the demands being put forward are not entirely justified and exceed 50 million, the Government Spokesperson noted that the amounts are quite high.
“They must be considered in relation to the rest of the sector, the level of wages, and the state’s financial capacity.”
