Ilias Charalambous is now officially the new head coach of Levadiakos, with the Boeotian club announcing the start of a two-year partnership between the two sides.
The 44-year-old Cypriot coach returns to Livadeia, this time as the team’s head coach, to an environment he knows well from his time as a player. Charalambous is coming off a particularly successful three-year stint at Steaua Bucharest, during which he won two Romanian league titles and two Super Cups, and he has been named the league’s top coach for two consecutive seasons.

The full announcement reads:
“Levadiakos FC is pleased to announce the start of its collaboration with coach Ilias Charalambous, who will take over as head coach of our team.
His return to Livadeia is particularly significant, as the Cypriot coach has long been associated with Levadiakos as a player, having worn our team’s jersey and been a member of our family. Today he returns in a different capacity, having carved out a remarkable and thoroughly successful career on the benches of European soccer.
Born on September 25, 1980, Ilias Charalambous had a distinguished career as a soccer player, playing for Omonia, PAOK, Alki Larnaca, Karmiotissa, Karlsruhe, and Levadiakos, and made 69 appearances for the Cyprus national team.
As a coach, he began his career at AEK Larnaca, followed by Ethnikos Achna and a stint in the United Arab Emirates. His greatest achievement came in Romania, where he took over Steaua Bucharest and, during his three-year tenure, led the historic club to two consecutive league titles (2024, 2025) and two Romanian Super Cups, while also achieving a remarkable run in UEFA competitions. In fact, during those same years (2024, 2025), he was also named the top coach in the Romanian league!
The management of Levadiakos FC welcomes Ilias Charalambous to our team’s family and wishes him good health, strength, and much success!”
