Scotland danced the samba, and Brazil is charging full steam ahead into the knockout stage!
Delivering a dominant and convincing performance, the Seleção scored twice in the first half and ultimately celebrated a comfortable 3-0 victory, finishing in first place in Group B of this year’s World Cup (tied with Morocco on points but with a better goal differential) and advancing… with momentum to the Round of 32, where they will face one of the teams that finish third!
On the other hand, Scotland suffered its second consecutive loss and remains stuck on the 3 points it earned in its opener against Haiti, waiting to find out if it will advance as one of the 8 best third-place finishers, with a total goal difference of -3.
Vinícius was once again the star for Carlo Ancelotti’s team, paving the way to victory scoring twice for the 2-0 win and bringing his total to 4 goals in this year’s World Cup, while Cunha, who had scored twice against Haiti, also found the back of the net again. Neymar made his first appearance, coming on as a substitute in the 76th minute and receiving a hero’s welcome from the Brazilians, who turned out in droves in the stands!
