Shortly before midnight, a violent incident occurred in Kallithea, during which a young man was fatally wounded in the chest by a sharp object.
This was preceded by a brawl, in which approximately ten people are said to have been involved, at 39 Megaloupoleos Street in Kallithea.
According to reports, one of the individuals allegedly stabbed him in the chest.
An EKAB ambulance arrived at the scene, picked up the injured teenager (aged 17–18), and transported him in critical condition to Hippocrates Hospital. Despite the doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
At the same time, police conducted extensive searches in the area and made 14 arrests.
In addition to the knife, a T-shirt and a screwdriver were reportedly found at the scene and are currently being examined.
Investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing, and initial assessments suggest that the motives appear to be related to fan violence, a scenario that is being examined.
Security officials have taken statements from eyewitnesses and are searching for footage from security cameras in the area to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators of the bloody attack.
