A firefighting helicopter crashed a short while ago into the Aoos Reservoir in Metsovo; fortunately, there were no casualties. The two crew members, a Greek and a foreign firefighter, are alive.

The helicopter was responding to a fire burning in a nearby area and had landed on the lake to take on water.

The incident prompted an immediate response from both the fire department and the National Ambulance Service (EKAV).

The two pilots swam to shore on their own, though they were injured.
