Mustafa Fall has begun a new chapter in his career with Panathinaikos, making his first remarks as a member of the “Greens.”
The French center visited the Telekom Center and appeared particularly excited about the new challenge, highlighting the decisive role that Zeljko Obradovic played in his decision to join the “clover,” while making it clear that his main goal is to win the EuroLeague.
At the same time, he spoke about his return following his serious injury, his former teammates Sloukas and Lesor, and his eagerness to play in front of the Panathinaikos fans.
Here are his comments in detail:
How significant a role did the presence of Zeljko Obradovic play in your decision?
“That played a big role. You know, I know he’s a great coach. I wanted to be on a competitive team, so this is a new opportunity for me. I’m really motivated by this opportunity, so I hope everything goes well.”
How do you feel now that, here at the Telekom Center Athens, you’ll have Panathinaikos fans on your side instead of “against” you?
“It’ll be wonderful. I believe it’s going to be a great season. I know there are so many Panathinaikos fans in Greece; I’ve been here many times before, so I know what the atmosphere is like. And I hope I can make them proud.”
Having played alongside Sloukas and Lesor, how important are they to your adjustment?
“I think so, definitely. If I need help, they’ll be here to help me. I have no doubt about that, but I’ll figure it out. I’m fine.”
How ready do you feel after your injury?
“Very, very determined. You know, I worked really hard all season to get back to this level. So I hope everything goes well. But I’m really motivated to make it happen.”
What are your goals with Panathinaikos AKTOR?
“My goal is to win the EuroLeague. I believe that when you join a team like this, that’s always the goal. So the goal will always be the same.”
A message for Panathinaikos fans?
“I hope you’ll support me. I hope to do a great job for you. And I hope we’ll bring success to Panathinaikos AKTOR.”
