Tunisia and the Netherlands will face off in Kansas (June 26, 2:00 a.m.) for the third matchday of Group 6, with the “Oranje” looking for a win to secure first place, while the Tunisians have already been eliminated.
The Africans have been disappointing so far, with two losses in as many matches. In fact, they have conceded nine goals against Sweden and Japan, scoring just one, which makes them one of the worst defenses in the tournament.
Hervé Renard saw all his players train as usual and will field his best possible starting lineup to… save face against the Dutch.
On the other hand, the Dutch aren’t far behind their opponents. Although they got off to a sluggish start in their opener, drawing 2-2 with Japan, they improved and impressed against Sweden, winning 5-1, with Hakpo and Brian Brobbey each scoring twice and showing that they’re picking up the pace.
With these results, the “Oranje” sit atop the group with four points, and if they beat Tunisia, they will all but secure first place.
Another positive for Ronald Koeman’s team is that they’ll field a full squad, with no injury concerns, and their sole objective is victory.
Probable starting lineups
Tunisia (Hervé Renard): Dahmen, Valeri, Rekik, Talbi, Ali Abdi – Skiri – Slimane, Anibal – Saouat, Saad, Mastouri.
Netherlands (Ronald Koeman): Verbruggen, Damfris, Van Dijk, Van Hecke, Van de Ven – De Jong, Ryders, Graffenberg – Malen, Broby, Hakpo.
