Aris is entering the final stretch before the start of summer training and, at the same time, is stepping up its efforts in order to resolve all outstanding issues in its transfer plans.
The top priority for the “yellow-and-blacks” is lifting the FIFA ban, with management currently in final negotiations to resolve the two outstanding financial issues. These are two separate cases, in which Aris is negotiating the amounts required to have the ban lifted and to be able to proceed normally with its transfers.
This development is directly linked to the strengthening of the roster. The Thessaloniki-based club is close to signing a foreign center back, with negotiations now in the final stages; this particular signing is one of the team’s top priorities.
At the same time, there is also movement regarding the left-back position, with Aris waiting to clarify the situation regarding Martin Fridecek’s contract renewal before making any final decisions.
The goalkeeper situation also remains open. Following the departure of Giorgos Athanasiadis, the “yellow-and-blacks” are looking for a starting goalkeeper. The case of Portuguese goalkeeper António Lopes was the subject of intense discussion, but interest has now shifted to another foreign goalkeeper.
On the current roster, the only sure bet for the new season is Socrates Dioudis, while Lovro Maikić also remains under contract, though the possibility of his departure is being considered. Emiliano Karai also remains on the team and is expected to round out the trio of goalkeepers until the transfer plans are finalized.
