In a video tribute to the invaluable work and contributions of Dr. Nikos Ioannou, Interior Minister Konstantinos Ioannou honors his father, who passed away a year ago.

In his post, Mr. Ioannou thanks his father.

“You set out on your eternal journey a year ago, but you are still with us, Father. We thank you for everything.”

Dr. Nikos Ioannou served as President of the Cyprus Medical Association and the first President of the Health Insurance Organization, and was a pioneer in the establishment and operation of the General Health System.

Dr. Nikos Ioannou made a significant contribution to the care of the wounded during the Turkish invasion of 1974, drawing on his expertise as an orthopedic surgeon.
