In response to recent public statements and media reports regarding the security detail assigned to the President of the Direct Democracy Party, Mr. Fidias Panagiotou, the Police clarify that the determination of security measures, including the number of officers assigned to provide security, is carried out exclusively following a risk assessment and based on the relevant security data at the time.
It is emphasized that the protection of political party leaders or other individuals falls under the authority of the Chief of Police, who submits his recommendation to the Minister of Justice for consideration and final approvalby the Council of Ministers.

The number, composition, and selection of guard unit members are determined exclusively by the Police, based on risk assessment and operational criteria.
