The finale of the World Cup group stage was both unbelievable and dramatic. Algeria and Austria tied 3-3 in Group J, a result that sent both teams into the Round of 32 and knocked Iran out at the very last moment!
Riyad Mahrez scored for Algeria in the 93rd minute, but Austria fought back (a draw would have eliminated them) and ultimately finished second in the group thanks to a goal by Saša Kalajić in the 96th minute.
Now in the “Round of 32,” Algeria will play Switzerland early Friday morning (6:00 a.m.), while Austria will face Spain on Thursday night (10:00 p.m.).
Argentina defeated Jordan 3-1 in the third match of Group 10 at the 2026 World Cup, finishing the group stage with a perfect record (3/3) and advancing triumphantly to the Round of 32.
The standout players for Lionel Scaloni’s team were Giovani Lo Celso, Lautaro Martínez, and Lionel Messi, who continued to make history.
