The first round of the 2026 World Cup has concluded, and the field has been set, with the teams that have advanced to the tournament’s “Round of 32” as well as the matchups for this round now determined.
In total, nine players from the Cyprus League by Stoiximan competed in the tournament, and six of them celebrated their teams’ advancement.
Ochoa (Mexico–AEL), Maseko (South Africa–AEL), Degenek (Australia–APOEL), Rodriguez (Cape Verde-Apollon), Sunic (Bosnia-Paphos), Kalulu (Congo-Aris), Sema (Sweden-Paphos), and Lukasen (Ghana-Paphos) will continue their World Cup commitments, as their integration into their teams’ preseason training has been… extended. We remind you that Willy Semedo, having officially left Omonia, is not among those mentioned above.
On the other hand, only Amin (Iraq-AEK) was eliminated and is expected to return to his team’s roster in the coming days.
