Steve Clarke has stepped down as Scotland’s head coach. The British coach submitted his resignation from the national team following the “Brave Hearts’” elimination from the “Round of 32” of the ongoing World Cup being played in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico—a fate that has befallen the Scots consistently since 1974 in major tournaments.

The 62-year-old resigned shortly before the team’s departure from Charlotte to return home.
Clark also led Scotland at the World Cup in North America and at Euro 2024 in Germany. In total, over 81 matches, he recorded 38 wins, 14 draws, and 29 losses.
