OFI is methodically continuing its transfer plans, having now shifted its focus to signing a winger, with the goal of finalizing the deal within the week and providing even more options on the wings.

The Cretans have a clear plan for this specific position, as Christos Kontis wants players who won’t be limited to the role of a classic winger, but will cut into the opponent’s box, frequently make runs into the “box,” and create numerical advantages in the team’s attacking midfield play.

This philosophy was evident last season as well, with the Greek coach asking his wingers to be more involved in finishing plays and to make more runs toward the center, in order to increase offensive pressure on the opponent.

Although the name of Sebastián Palacios from Levadiakos has been mentioned, OFI is proceeding with the utmost discretion to finalize the transfer, evaluating options that fully meet the coach’s tactical requirements.

The Cretans already possess significant quality on the wings with Tiago Nuss and Taxiarchis Fountas, but the goal of the management and coaching staff is to add another quality option, thereby increasing competition and raising the level of the offensive line.
