A strong earthquake struck Caracas and La Guaira again this morning shortly after 7:00 a.m. local time (2:00 p.m. Cyprus time), according to the French Press Agency, nearly five days after Wednesday’s double earthquake measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, June 24, the provisional death toll from which is already approaching 1,500.

The death toll from the double earthquake in Venezuela had reached 1,450 yesterday, Sunday. Many buildings have been damaged: 774 have been affected, of which 189 have been confirmed to have collapsed completely.
The United Nations estimates that approximately 50,000 people are missing. According to experts, the chances of finding survivors are diminishing as time passes.
