Sasha Vezenkov is currently with his country's national team for the World Cup qualifiers, with the Olympiacos superstar speaking to Bulgarian media representatives.
Among other things, the 31-year-old forward commented on Cody Miller-McIntyre’s signing with the “Red-and-Whites,” as well as to Mustafa Fall’s decision to sign with Panathinaikos, emphasizing that the French center made a professional decision regarding his future.
Here is what he said in detail:
On Fall’s transfer to Panathinaikos: “It’s a professional decision. Everyone has their own family and thinks about their future. But you can’t erase from your mind and heart the five years you spent with certain people. We shared so many moments together, and above all, I wish him good health. For 40 minutes, we’ll be opponents, but I’ll always remember what we went through together.”
On the signing of Cody Miller-McIntyre: “I know he signed with our team about a month ago. I believe that with him, Montero, and the guys who were with us last year, we’ll have a very strong team. Now we just have to prove it on the court.”
On whether he’ll play for the national team in August: “If we’re all healthy, I’ll be here in August. Training camp hasn’t started yet, so there’s still time. The important thing right now is to win this game. As I’ve said before, when I’m healthy and the EuroLeague schedule allows it, I’ll always be available to help the national team.”
