The 36-year-old Spanish fullback announced that his career is coming to an end due to injuries that prevent him from continuing, but he is leaving with a full heart and immense gratitude for the sport.
“I’ve spent many years filled with sacrifices, hard work, discipline, time away from home, tears, pain, surgeries, victories, defeats, and moments I’ll never forget. This ‘goodbye’ hurts, but I feel proud. I gave it my all right up until the very last moment,” he said, among other things.
