David Carmo is once again a member of the Olympiacos squad.
In his first comments following his return to the Red-and-Whites, the Portuguese center back admitted that as soon as he received the call from the Piraeus club, he felt happy and promised that he would give his all for the team.
He recalled the great moments he experienced with the Red-and-Whites and pledged to support the team through both good times and bad.
“It’s very exciting for me (to be back). Ever since last season ended, my family and I have wanted to come here. As soon as they called me, I was very happy. I feel ready; I’m in a very good frame of mind to honor the trust and love that the fans and the club’s staff have shown me here. This is clearly the place where I feel happy to play and enjoy it just as much as when I first started playing as a kid. Everything comes naturally—it feels like it was meant to be. I love everything—I love the people who work at the club, the coaches, the trainers—and I think I can be the best version of myself,” he said, continuing:
“I missed the passion the fans have here, the atmosphere at the stadium. I’ve never played in a stadium with an atmosphere like this before, and I can’t wait to experience it again. When I said I’m coming back ready and mentally strong, it’s because I went through a difficult year, but I’ve matured and have reached a point where I can represent Olympiacos in the best possible way, honor the club, and show the people here the respect they deserve.”
Karmo concluded by saying: “It’s amazing (to represent Olympiacos). I’ve been fortunate to be here for a year and a half, during which we’ve won major titles. The way we celebrated showed all the hard work we put in, and the way we finished the season gave the fans a reason to celebrate, enjoy themselves, and be proud— it was the best. I can’t wait to help us win more titles. For me, the most important thing—and what I’m committed to—is that I’ll give my all every day in games and practices, and when I’m not playing, I’ll be there for the team. Because, as I said before, the wins and losses at this club make me feel like a member of this family, and I’ll be here through thick and thin. That’s what I’m committed to giving here.”
