"We are investing in the advancement of knowledge by upgrading higher education," said the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, on Tuesday evening during his remarks at the graduation ceremony of the “C.D.A. College” Private Institution of Higher Education.
Addressing the graduates, the President said, “Together with you, we too feel proud of the completion of this important chapter in your lives. A chapter for which you had to work with patience and perseverance in order to meet the demands of your field of study,” he noted, adding that “the degree you have earned through hard work carries significant weight given the educational institution from which you graduated, but it also has a positive impact on our society itself.”

“You are the new generation of people who will lead our country toward progress and prosperity. All of you are the future of our country,” he emphasized, noting that “this is precisely the goal that CDA College placed at the heart of its mission when it was founded in 1976 under very difficult circumstances for our country, and has remained steadfastly committed for more than 50 years to providing quality higher education.”
The President of the Republic noted that the College “has, from the very beginning, linked education to the needs and challenges of today’s job market,” adding that “it is by no means a coincidence that an overwhelming percentage of your College’s graduates find employment immediately after graduation.”
“This, moreover, is the decisive role that higher education is called upon to play in the new international environment, which is characterized by rapid technological advances, unpredictability, and constant geopolitical realignments,” he emphasized. “An environment in which social and economic progress requires the development of knowledge, the promotion of innovation, and the cultivation of specialized skills among the workforce,” he added.
“And it is precisely in this direction that we are systematically investing by upgrading higher education, promoting targeted policies that enhance quality, academic excellence, and align our education with the needs of the labor market,” President Christodoulides noted.
“And our decision to move forward with the establishment of Technical High Schools was by no means coincidental. We started with two last year, we’re continuing with two more, four in total, and it is truly very positive that there is such a response, since our students’ interest exceeds the available spots,” he emphasized.
“Today you are reaching an important milestone in your lives. You have arrived here through hard work, perseverance, and dedication. A new path now lies before you, full of challenges but also opportunities,” he said. “Armed with the knowledge, skills, and experience you’ve gained from your studies, I am confident that you will meet the demands of the future with complete success,” he added.
“In an ever-changing world, dare to dream and pursue your dreams. Remember that your education does not end with graduation, but is an ongoing process of personal and professional development,” emphasized President Christodoulides.
