Olympiacos is stepping up its transfer plans, with the deals for Petar Stanic and Joel Roca at an advanced stage, while the possibility of strengthening the defense with Domingos Duarte remains on the table.
The Stanic deal appears to be in the final stages. The 24-year-old midfielder has reportedly asked Ludogorets to finalize his transfer to the “Red-and-Whites” as soon as possible, and he himself is pushing to wear the Olympiacos jersey.
Reports indicate that talks between the two clubs are ongoing, with the gap between their positions having narrowed significantly. The Bulgarian team is asking for approximately 8 million euros, while the final deal is estimated to be between 8 and 10 million euros. Meanwhile, Stanic hopes to join his new team at the start of the main phase of preseason training in the Netherlands.
The situation with Joel Roca is also moving in the right direction. The Spanish winger has reached an agreement with Olympiacos, though the final details with Girona still need to be worked out in order to formally complete his transfer.
At the same time, Domingos Duarte remains a top choice to strengthen the defensive line. Talks with the Portuguese center back’s camp have resumed, and Olympiacos is optimistic that a “middle ground” can be found to finalize the transfer.
Sofian Amrabat also remains on the transfer radar. According to Turkish media reports, Fenerbahçe appears willing to let go of the Moroccan midfielder, who played last season on loan at Betis, making 29 appearances and scoring two goals. The same sources claim that Olympiacos remains very interested in signing him.
