Police are investigating a robbery involving a 23-year-old food delivery driver, which took place early this morning in Limassol.
According to the evidence under review, around 1:30 a.m., while the 23-year-old was riding his bicycle on Omonia Avenue in Limassol, he was approached by three unknown individuals who demanded that he hand over the food he was carrying. The 23-year-old refused, resulting in an attack by the strangers, who struck him with their hands and with a metal object. One of them allegedly stabbed him in the abdomen with a knife. The perpetrators then allegedly stole €150 that the complainant had on him and fled the scene.
The 23-year-old went to Limassol General Hospital, where he was found to have abrasions on various parts of his body, swelling in his right eye, and a superficial wound to his left abdomen, and was admitted for further treatment.
During the investigation of the case, it was determined that the 23-year-old was residing illegally in the Republic, resulting in his arrest for the flagrant offense of illegal residence.
