The coaching situation at Anorthosis is turning into a… soap opera, since after the “fiasco” with Zeljko Kopić, the situation with Karel Gerets met the same fate for various reasons.
However, the officials at the Famagusta-based club aren’t giving up and are already in talks with another coach—specifically, the Serbian Nestor El Maestro.

He is a 43-year-old coach who previously managed Spartak Trnava (2017–2018/38 matches), CSKA Sofia (2018–2019, 2023–2024/27+31 matches), Stum Graz (2019–2020/31 matches), Al-Taawon (2021/12 matches), Göztepe (2021–2022/28 matches), Debrecen (2024–2025/21 matches), and his most recent team was Al-Nayma (14 matches) last season.
The greatest achievement of his career was winning the Slovak league title with Spartak Trnava during the 2017–2018 season.
