Aris continues to make strengthening the center of its defense a top priority, with team officials continuing negotiations to sign two center backs ahead of the new season.
With just a few days to go before the start of preseason training, Michalis Grigoriou is expected to have Fabiano at his disposal—who has recovered from his injury—as well as three young players who will participate in the first training sessions.
They are Panagiotis Kamtsis, who has a professional contract but has not yet made an appearance with the first team, the 18-year-old Senegalese player Tiam Matar, who is close to signing his first professional contract, as well as Giorgos Sitara from the U-19 team, who will join the preseason training camp.
Recently, the “yellow-and-blacks” have identified two center-backs from abroad and have made significant progress in negotiations with them. However, negotiations have not yet been finalized, as the club is choosing to proceed cautiously, avoiding hasty decisions that could affect its transfer plans.
At the same time, before making any official announcements regarding new signings, Aris is seeking to definitively resolve the two pending cases that remain on FIFA’s list, arguing that they have already been settled financially and only require final resolution.
Meanwhile, Sundberg is expected to continue his career with the Turkish club Göztepe, while Lindsay Rose is close to returning to France, with Metz emerging as his most likely destination. These two departures are expected to pave the way for the moves Aris is planning in the center of the defense.
