Early Thursday morning, police arrested two young men, aged 21 and 23, who, along with seven others, were involved in a serious incident that began late the previous night in Agia Marina against a 19-year-old resident of Stylida and resulted in the abduction andassault on a minor and another 19-year-old.
According to Lamiareport.gr, it all began around 11 p.m. in Agia Marina. A 25-year-old resident of Lamia had a misunderstanding with the 19-year-old from Stylida and punched him. The latter managed to flee the scene, fearing the 25-year-old’s large group of friends, and ran off in an unknown direction.
Then, the 25-year-old, accompanied by the arrested individuals, as well as a 24-year-old and five others, left in three cars to search for the 19-year-old.
In Stylida, they spotted two individuals, aged 18 and 19, riding a two-seater electric scooter, whom they knew to be friends of the other 19-year-old with whom the 25-year-old had quarreled in Agia Marina. The 24-year-old struck the 18-year-old driver of the electric scooter, and they grabbed the 19-year-old and forcibly put him into one of the three cars. Their goal was to take them to the first 19-year-old’s home!
The latter, however, had made sure to hide and had not gone home. In the meantime, the police had been alerted and began searching for the assailants, locating one of the three vehicles and arresting its two passengers. Both the 25-year-old who was the main instigator of the initial incident and the 24-year-old who struck the minor are wanted for arrest. As noted at the outset, the case file compiled by the Stylida Police Station also includes five additional unidentified suspects—friends of the aforementioned individuals—whose identities are currently being investigated.
The two arrested individuals will be brought before the Lamia First Instance Prosecutor’s Office, while the charges they face, along with the other seven individuals, include forming a criminal gang, kidnapping, and bodily harm against the 25-year-old and the 24-year-old who are currently being sought.
