Panathinaikos’ main training camp in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, is coming to an end, with the the “Greens” training on Friday morning and then heading back to the hotel to rest ahead of tomorrow’s friendly against Ajax (6:00 p.m.) and their return to Athens.
The training session featured a full program, with Rastonder and De Vrij completing the entire session as usual, while Nystrup worked on several areas with his players.
The… main focus was once again on tactical fouls under the Danish coach, with the 38-year-old placing emphasis on both build-up play and pressing. This is an “aspect” that Nistrup places great emphasis on in order to build a team with a clear identity that will rely heavily on build-up play as well as pressure. A small tournament followed, and the program concluded with the team splitting into three groups.
One group, led by Penia and the fullbacks – and wingers—worked on build-up play from the goalkeeper under pressure, with Nistrup leading the session with these specific players. Another group worked under Molkier’s guidance on set pieces, and a third group focused on finishing, with Madsen overseeing that specific program…
