Lewis Hamilton is back in the mix, and Ferrari is smiling!
Just a few weeks after his maiden victory behind the wheel of a Scuderia car at the Barcelona Grand Prix, the seven-time world champion confirmed that he’s in excellent racing form by securing pole position in the Silverstone Sprint Race!
The British Ferrari driver had already shown his form during the British Grand Prix’s sole practice session, when he set the fastest time earlier in the day.
Despite the challenges he faced on a difficult and demanding track like the one in his home country, Hamilton, with a time of 1:28.376, claimed pole position in the Sprint Race qualifying session, leaving behind Formula 1’s wunderkind and championship leader, Kimi Antonelli, by 11 thousandths of a second!
Noteworthy and indicative of Lewis’s dominance in qualifying was the fact that he set the fastest times in SQ1, SQ2, and SQ3!
