A fire broke out inside the institute. Two employees were in the loft of the building; they managed to escape and miraculously survived.
According to the police, the fire caused minor damage to the glass display case and the interior of the building.
The arsonists’ actions, which were recorded frame by frame on the store’s closed-circuit camera system and obtained by Alpha, lasted about two minutes. In fact, the moment they set the fire, it appears to spread to one of their hands. After leaving, they return to make sure the fire has broken out.
The two perpetrators fled from the same spot where they had arrived.
100 meters from the police station
The arsonists, with no regard for anything or anyone, struck at 3:47 a.m., right under the police’s noses, since the Germasogeia police station is located 100 meters west of the property.
Investigations in the area have not turned up any leads, and authorities are searching for clues using surveillance footage.
The British owner of the property stated in his testimony that he does not suspect anyone, nor does he have any disputes with anyone.
