Elias G. Anagnostopoulos is expected to take over the position of Christos Mylonopoulos, who resigned from the five-member investigative team appointed to examine the findings of the Independent Authority Against Corruption regarding the “Mafia State.”
Ilias G. Anagnostopoulos is an emeritus professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Law and one of Greece’s most prominent criminal law experts.

His academic background includes criminal procedure, economic criminal law, European criminal law, and a significant body of scholarly work.
The proposal to include him in the team of independent criminal investigators will be presented at the next Cabinet meeting.
