Different conditions

Weather conditions continue to disrupt the 2026 World Cup schedule, with two major Round of 16 matches set to have their kickoff times changed. In Mexico City, the severe storms expected around kickoff time for the Mexico-England match have already led international media outlets to report that the game will be moved from 3:00 a.m. on Monday to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, in order to avoid potential interruptions or delays.

Meanwhile, in New York, the heat wave is creating a new headache for FIFA, which—according to a Brazilian journalist—is seriously considering a time change for the Brazil-Norway match as well. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 p.m. Cyprus time on Sunday night, and kickoff may be moved to midnight. Temperatures are expected to hit "red" at kickoff time, with FIFA leaning toward postponing the match by one hour for the players’ safety.

Final decisions are expected later today, with FIFA preparing to formalize two schedule changes due to extreme weather conditions in different host cities.
