A tough friendly match in the Netherlands for Panathinaikos!

The “Greens” face the powerful Ajax tonight (6:00 p.m.), in a match to be held in Ermelo—an ideal opportunity for Jacob Nystrup to draw important conclusions.

Three days ago, Panathinaikos played its first preseason friendly of the year, showing several positive aspects in their play and easily securing a 4-0 victory over Helmond Sport, a second-division team in the Netherlands. Today’s match marks the end of Panathinaikos’s stay in the Netherlands, as the team will return to Athens immediately afterward.

As for the starting lineup Nystrup is expected to field for tonight’s friendly, we’ll most likely see Peña back in goal, with Kyriakopoulos, Kalabria on the flanks of the defense, and Katri and Ingason as the center-back pairing.

Cherin and Kamara are expected to start in midfield, with Jaskusic as the “playmaker” and Zarouri and Antino flanking the more advanced Tetei in this 4-2-3-1 formation. In all likelihood, we’ll also see De Vrij get some playing time during the match to make his unofficial debut with Panathinaikos, while the Danish coach is expected to experiment quite a bit with his lineup.

We remind you that Panathinaikos’ next friendly will be against Swiss club Grasshoppers at Leoforos, on July 11, followed by an away match against Rapid Vienna on July 15, before the games against Paksi (July 23 and July 30) in the Conference League qualifiers!
