There have been rapid developments in the last few hours regarding the future of Isaac Bonga and the next stop in his career.
On Saturday afternoon (July 4), Partizan announced that the German forward is leaving the Belgrade’s “black-and-whites” and will continue with another EuroLeague team, with Spanish media revealing that he is just a breath away from Real Madrid.
However, it appears there has been a new development in this story, which is one of the “hottest” battles of the offseason in Europe’s top competition, as he is one of the top players on the free agent market.
According to Donatas Urbonas in “Basketnews,” Panathinaikos AKTOR appears to have beaten out the competition and is close to signing the 26-year-old star!
As the Lithuanian outlet specifically notes, the “Greens’” potential deal with Bonga will include clauses allowing the player to leave for the NBA every summer during the contract, leaving the “window” for him to pursue his dream on the magical courts of the U.S.
During the season that just ended, the international forward made a total of 38 appearances for Partizan in the EuroLeague, averaging 9.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and an average of 14.3 efficiency points.
Isaac Bonga is nearing a move to Panathinaikos after one of the most competitive transfer races of this summer’s EuroLeague market, according to sources.
