The police maintained a strong presence and carried out intensive operations throughout Cyprus last night, conducting organized patrols at key locations in urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order, and increasing the public’s sense of security.
These preventive policing operations resulted in the arrest of 8 individuals for various offenses, including illegal possession of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, and illegal residence.
During the night, 511 vehicles were stopped for inspection, and 652 drivers and passengers were checked. At the same time, 58 property inspections were conducted, resulting in 8 complaints.
During traffic stops, 329 citations were issued for various traffic violations, 96 of which were for speeding. A total of 291 breathalyzer tests were conducted, with 30 positive results, as well as 10 preliminary drug tests, with 6 positive results. In addition, as part of the police operations, 22 vehicles were impounded.
Law enforcement operations aimed at preventing and suppressing crime continue daily, with an increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action, with the aim of protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
