AEK is on a transfer spree and seems determined to finalize two major signings immediately!
AEK has reached an agreement on all terms with Christos Alexiou, the 21-year-old international center back from Inter.
The young left-footed center back was captain of the “Nerazzurri” Primavera team, is a member of the Greek U-21 national team, has signed a contract through 2029, and last season Alexiou played in 32 matches, scoring 4 goals.
He started out in the Atromitos youth academy, initially moved to Inter on loan, and in 2022, the Italians signed him on a permanent transfer for approximately 270,000 euros.
It is worth noting that, despite being a Greek international with the U-21 national team, Alexiou will not be considered a home-grown player on UEFA’s roster. The reason is that he moved to Inter at a young age and did not complete the required three years in Greece between the ages of 15 and 21, as stipulated by the European federation’s regulations for players classified as “club-trained” or “association-trained.”
