A serious altercation between Sasha Obradović and Giannis Sfairopoulos reportedly took place in Athens, on the sidelines of the Euroleague Coaches Association seminar.

According to a report by the Serbian website Direktno, the former Red Star coach approached the Greek coach in a heated manner, accusing him of undermining him during last season.

The same report states that Obradović claimed that Sfairopoulos was speaking ill of him and communicating with Red Star players in an attempt to undermine him. In fact, according to the same allegations, he moved menacingly toward the Greek coach, prompting those present to intervene immediately to prevent a confrontation.

For his part, Sfairopoulos reportedly kept his composure and did not respond to the provocations, and the incident ended quickly without escalating further.

It should be noted that the two coaches succeeded one another on the Red Star bench, with Obradović taking over the team after Sfairopoulos’s departure, though he did not successfully finish the season.
