The EDEK Extraordinary Pan-Cyprian Congress, which was held on Sunday in Nicosia, decided to hold a constitutional convention first and then an electoral convention, following a proposal by the EDEK President.
In his opening remarks, Nikos Anastasiou addressed the items on the agenda and, in particular, the question of whether a constitutional convention should be held first or whether the regular electoral convention should take place first.
According to CNA reports, there was some tension at the start of the conference, which did not escalate, and the proceedings continued with statements from the delegates.
Participants in the EDEK Extraordinary Pan-Cyprian Congress voted in favor of holding the party’s constitutional convention in October 2026 and the electoral convention in December2026.
