Authorities are continuing their investigation into the bomb explosion that occurred early Tuesday morning at a cultural center in Limassol.
According to Limassol Assistant Police Director Lefteris Kyriakou, on-site examinations revealed that the explosion was caused by the detonation of a makeshift metal object containing explosive material.

Investigations are ongoing, while at the same time witnesses are being sought and statements are being taken in order to identify the perpetrators and determine the motives behind the criminal act.
According to statements by Mr. Kyriakos, the property’s managers recently changed. He added that the property was not open at the time of the explosion.
It should be noted that the explosion occurred around 3:30 a.m. at the main entrance of the Cultural Center on Megalou Alexandrou Street in the city center.
The explosion caused property damage to the building’s entrance, as well as to a vehicle that was parked nearby.
The Limassol CID is continuing its investigation.
