Aboubakar Koïta appears to be on the radar of two historic German clubs. At least, that’s what a report on the German website HSV24 claims, noting that Schalke is evaluating the Mauritanian winger, but they are not alone in their pursuit, as Hamburg also has the AEK attacking midfielder on its transfer list.
However, the report does not mention any official offer or advanced negotiations with the Greek champions, which suggests that the two German clubs are simply showing interest in the 27-year-old.
It should be noted that the report in question describes a player with speed, explosiveness, and one-on-one ability—qualities that are highly valued by the staff of both teams.
Last year, Koita had a tremendous season in Greece and Europe with AEK, scoring 10 goals and recording 4 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions, playing a decisive role in the playoffs where AEK finished first and won the title.
