The Council of Ministers adopted decisions to increase support for livestock farmers affected by foot-and-mouth disease during its meeting on Wednesday morning.

As reported by Rafaella Stavrinou on the Alpha News program, it was decided to allocate additional funding of 4,750,000 euros to compensate affected livestock farmers for the loss of livestock, hay, milk, etc., bringing the total support to 39 million euros.

At the same time, compensation for 15 livestock farmers is still pending, in cases where there were discrepancies in the number of animals identified on their farms; this process will proceed based on the opinion of the Legal Service.

At the same time, the Cabinet approved additional financial support of 1.5 million euros for goat and sheep farmers, as agreed upon at the meeting held by the President of the Republic.
