Alexander Zverev is enjoying the best run of his career at Wimbledon, having defeated Taylor Fritz with remarkable ease, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the semifinals of the London Grand Slam for the first time.
The German, ranked No. 3 in the world, managed to put an end to a particularly negative streak against the American, having lost their previous seven head-to-head matches. This time, however, he dominated completely, wrapping up the match in just 1 hour and 59 minutes.

With this victory, Zverev became only the fifth German in the Open Era to reach the Wimbledon semifinals, while also becoming one of only five active players to have reached the semifinals of all four Grand Slams.
On his way to his first career final at the All England Club, he will face Britain’s Arthur Fery, the tournament’s biggest surprise.
In fact, if he manages to advance, Zverev will return to No. 2 in the world rankings, overtaking Carlos Alcaraz for the first time since May 2025.
