The police maintained a strong presence and carried out intensive operations throughout Cyprus last night, conducting organized patrols at key locations in urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order, and increasing the public’s sense of security.
These preventive policing operations resulted in the arrest of six individuals for various offenses, including illegal drug possession, public intoxication and disorderly conduct, traffic violations, and illegal residence.

During the night, 554 vehicles were stopped for inspection, and 666 drivers and passengers were checked. At the same time, 48 property inspections were conducted, resulting in 4 complaints.
During traffic stops, 416 citations were issued for various traffic violations, 91 of which were for speeding. A total of 109 breathalyzer tests were conducted, with 10 positive results, as well as 3 preliminary drug tests, with 2 positive results. In addition, as part of the police operations, 16 vehicles were impounded.
Law enforcement operations aimed at crime prevention and suppression continue daily, with an increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action, with the aim of protecting citizens and ensuring public order.
