APOEL announced that a transfer ban had been imposed on the club following a notice it received from FIFA regarding an outstanding debt owed to former player Kingsley Sarfo.
The announcement: “APOEL announces that UEFA has imposed a transfer ban due to an outstanding debt owed to player Kingsley Sarfo. This particular case was among those for which an effort was made to find a solution through a settlement. However, the player did not accept this form of settlement, making it impossible to reach an agreement. APOEL’s management continues its efforts to resolve all pending cases with the aim of settling them as best as possible.”
