Professor of European Law and Reform, Dean of the School of Law at the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus, Stefani Loli Siailou, is expected to be appointed by the member states to the Court of Justice of the European Union, on Friday, to the position of Advocate General, according to a report by the MLex news agency.
Ms. Siailou is expected to be appointed to replace the current judge at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Nikola Aimiliou, until October 6, 2027, when his term at the ECJ would have ended.
According to the same document reviewed by MLex, the term of the ECHR President, Koun Lenarts, is also expected to be renewed on Friday for a new six-year term from October 7, 2027, until October 6, 2033.
CYPE contacted Ms. Siailou, who declined to confirm her appointment to the ECJ prior to the election.
