Kyiv and Washington have reached an agreement on a license to manufacture the U.S.-made Patriot air defense systems, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said today, adding that technical details still need to be worked out.
“It is very important for our technical teams (…) to start working on this so that we can obtain the licenses as soon as possible and begin production in Ukraine,” Zelenskyy told reporters.
Zelenskyy also noted that in the coming days, Ukraine will receive PAC-3 missiles from the U.S. “It was a productive summit for Ukraine. In the coming days, we will receive a package (of military aid) from the U.S. I also reached separate agreements with European countries. No dates have been set yet, but we will receive additional PAC-3 missiles,” the Ukrainian president said.
“We will grant you a license to manufacture the Patriot,” U.S. President Donald Trump assured his Ukrainian counterpart yesterday, Wednesday, during a meeting at the NATO summit in Ankara.
