Paphos will face the winner of the match between Hajduk Split (Croatia) and Žilina (Slovakia) in the second qualifying round of the Europa League.

The Croatians defeated the Slovaks 2-0 (22′ Brajković, 49′ De Almeida) in their first match and took the lead in the series ahead of the second leg, which will be played next Thursday (July 16, 9:30 p.m.).

It should be noted that Marco Livaja, who has been the subject of much discussion in recent days due to a disciplinary infraction, entered the match in the 86th minute. Furthermore, former Pafos player Ivica Ivušić did not see any playing time, as Toni Silic was in goal.

As a reminder, the Cyprus Cup champions’ first official match of the season is on Thursday, July 23, on the road, with the rematch taking place the very next Thursday (July 30) at the “Alphamega Stadium.”
