Unsolicited emails bearing the General Accounting Office’s logo request verification of the recipient’s personal information and bank account details under the pretext of an ATA payment, warns the General Accounting Office.

The agency urges citizens to be wary of such messages, which are intended to steal bank account information from unsuspecting citizens, and urges anyone who has received such messages to ignore them.
It is also emphasized that any communication from the General Accounting Office of the Republic to citizens via email takes place only through email addresses ending in @treasury.gov.cy.
