Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kompos is traveling to Brussels today, where tomorrow, Monday, July 13, he will participate in the proceedings of the European Union (EU) Foreign Affairs Council. As announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Minister will raise with the Council the signing of the illegal “memorandum of understanding” between Turkey and the occupied territories regarding the construction of a natural gas pipeline, denouncing Turkey for its new illegal actions.
According to the Foreign Ministry’s announcement, the Council’s agenda includes Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, the European Union’s strategic approach to the Black Sea, and the situation in the Middle East. The ministers will exchange views on issues related to EU-United Nations relations, as well as developments in Sudan.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Mr. Kompos will also participate in the third EU-Gulf Cooperation Council High-Level Forum on Regional Security and Cooperation.
Following the conclusion of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting, Mr. Kompos will participate in the Second Ministerial Meeting on the Palestinian Donor Conference (Palestinian Donor Group—PDG), which will be co-chaired by the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, and Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, the announcement states.
During his stay in Brussels, the Foreign Minister will hold meetings with his counterparts, the statement concludes.
