Late Sunday night, police arrested the father of the unfortunate 3-year-old boy in connection with the child’s fall at a hotel in Paphos.
According to initial reports, the 37-year-old was arrested around 10:15 p.m. and taken into custody on suspicion of causing death through reckless, careless, or dangerous act; dereliction of duty as head of a household; and dereliction of responsibility as a person entrusted with the care of another.
On Monday morning, he is expected to appear before the Paphos District Court, where the police will request a detention order to facilitate the investigation.
The legally mandated autopsy on the body of the unfortunate boy is scheduled to take place at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, at the Nicosia morgue, by medical examiners Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou.
The police investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy is ongoing.
