A 39-year-old man was located and arrested around 7:00 p.m. yesterday by police officers to facilitate the investigation into an ongoing case involving theft, receiving stolen goods, and illegal possession of property. The theft of property with a total value of €26,000 occurred on June 22, 2026, in the Limassol district, from a parked vehicle belonging to a 77-year-old woman. In connection with the same case, a 28-year-old man was arrested on June 24, 2026.
During a search conducted by police officers at the 39-year-old’s residence, pursuant to a search warrant, property was located and seized, including a motorcycle that had been reported stolen on March 26, 2026, in the Limassol district, musical instruments, and gold jewelry. The 39-year-old man failed to provide satisfactory explanations as to how they came into his possession, as a result of which police officers proceeded to arrest him for the flagrant offense of illegal possession of property.
During the search, a quantity of 0.7 grams of a white crystalline substance—methamphetamine (crystal)—was also found and seized.
The Limassol CID, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Agency (YKAN) and the Polemidia Police Station, is continuing its investigation.
